A recent study done door to door showed that there was an 18 percent increase in allergies in kids to foods. This may be due to more public awareness that rashes and breathing problems can be allergies and not the cold or flu. Nonetheless, 3 million kids with food allergies is a high number. Other studies have indicated that eggs,dairy and peanuts are high on the list of foods causing allergies. This study by the center for disease control linked allergic skin rashes , respiratory problems and asthma to food allergies. Keep a food diary of your kids snacks and meals to see what may be the underlying triggers. Eczema is very common and I see kids in counseling often that show me their pink inner elbows.
